Wings & Wheels 2013
« on: June 14, 2013, 10:42:41 pm »

Hi Everyone,

Nobody seems to be talking about the Wings & Wheels show this year, even though the event is just around the corner (29th & 30th June).
We at the Brentwood Club will be there to support the event, as we have on previous years.
I do hope we have some good weather this year. Can't seem to get a happy medium, last year was cold, wet & very windy & the year before that, we were cooked under the sun.
Although, given the last year or so, I would prefer to see the sun again!

Anyway, hope to see some of you there.

Neil.

I hope to get there.
Health permitting.
have something going wrong with the inner workings of my abdomen which is proving to be a little harder to repair than the models and ships I encounter

The wind was awful last year. I remember being surprised as to the amount of aircraft that actually flew.
I also remember helping the chaps from Leighton Buzzard MBC save their gazebo from destroying itself in the strong gusts!
To give people an idea of how strong the winds were - my children took part in the free rocket launching, during the lunch break.
The rockets were launched from the grass on the far side of the runway, furthest from the all the trade stands.
One of the rockets fired only just landed, on its parachute, within the perimeter boundary of the airfield!
That was over the flightline, over the trade stands & across the car parks behind, it actually hit the perimeter fence & fell inside.
The rockets were meant to land whilst still over the flightline area!

Hi Guys,
I am afraid we will not be attending the show this year, my health is all over the place after the failed heart operation last year and a another failed operation this year.
I am due for a third attempt in July this year then hopefully I will be in better shape. Please keep your fingers crossed for me.
Regards
to you all and we do hope that the show goes well.

40 minutes each way !! - Wow  :o - it takes me an hour each way everyday to Sheerness from Sevenoaks -  I must learn to drive faster  :embarrassed: .

Good to see both you and Bradders, I brought one of those £2.00 returned helicopters and it works  :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))
It uses infrared for its controls, but the three small motors in it must be worth more than what I paid.
