Plans for H.M.A.F.V. Sterling. Mk 3 RTTL
« on: June 15, 2013, 11:22:40 am »

Hi I am trying to locate plans or drawings for this class of RAF launch. I think it is a Mk 3 rescue target towing launch. I am willing to pay for copies or even a small scale photo of the plans. In particular the plan view. In other words HELP!.

Cheers Chris Monk.

I'm considering another hull, a pair on the water together would be fantastic.  ok2

These are superb hulls but are semi-displacement and as such should be ballasted to keep the bow down to get the full effect and speed.
I used to look after these craft for MoD and oversaw refits of almost all of this class.
The Spitfire being a real oddball.

Reading about the Spitfire I'm surprised she was taken on.  :D I run a model as the Halifax, based in Holyhead and I was lucky to go out with her twice on dingy sea drill's. I use a pair of Graupner 700's and she does not need ballast. as she has one 12v 7amp battery.
