Who is Heath Robinson?
Free Dictionary:
"if a machine or system is Heath Robinson, it is very complicated in a way that is funny, but not practical or effective"Hopefully your yacht will eventually avoid being Heath Robinson
Presumably it is a sloop with Bermuda rig.
A quick summary:
You should have a single mast just ahead of the keel fin, with a single jib in front of the mast and a mainsail behind.
There will be two or three shrouds each side of the mast, also a backstay from top of mast to the stern. There may be a forestay (from top of mast to bow), this is optional. The jib has a halyard from near mast top to the front of the jib boom. Jib boom is pivoted about 25% of its length from the bow. Most model yachts have a self tacking jib.
Sail winch controls both sails. The winch may be below deck or could be a continuous loop above deck, there are a few setup options.
Suggest you have a look at some pictures - Go to Google Images and search for "rc sailboat legend" - while the Legend is a cheap Chinese boat, the general rigging layout is typical of a great many rc sailboats and should give you the general idea.
Hope this gets you started...
Rigging may be done either with Dyneema or wire, depends on what you are planning....
For more specific areas, perhaps you could post a photo or two of what you have?
