Hi Neil

Flesh colour- Humbrol 61
                    Tamiya XF 15

I think there is a company called Life Colour who do a flesh colour set.

Hope this helps.

The advice in steam up's link is what I was told in art at school, the only bit missed was the tip to try the paint on the back of your hand - when you can't see it, it's right.  Of course, if you're painting someone with a deeper suntan or a pasty individual, some adjustment would be needed.
The Humbrol mentioned is (or was, or might be again?) a good average northern European, but look at the range of hues of the riders in the TdF currently showing.

For a white man:-1 part red, 1 part yellow, 15 parts white.   Other colours for your preference.

I use Citadel Paints which are available at "games workshop" stores http://www.localstore.co.uk/cs/186/614/hobbies-and-games/fleetwood/

They stock a number of "flesh" colours - I use "elf flesh" for most of my model boat figures.

Incidentally, these paints are acrylic and they also do "metallic" paints, useful for "brasswork" etc.
Worth checking out anyway.

Hope this helps...

Regards,

Ray.

Second that, the gamers stores have a wider range of paints for figures, with more than one flesh colour.
Also do an internet search, and look on the gaming sites for painting faces/flesh. There are lots of tips for getting a more lifelike finish. Skins ir never a single tone. Also the order of painting parts of the face make a difference. There may also be tutorials on youtube.

Neil,
I haunted the wargames store here a few years back, not to play, but to watch the guy's paint. Purchased one of their how to books, and use their paints, citidel, I think. Best ten dollars I've spent in quite a while.
You can't go wrong following their methods. Tried using Tamiya acrylics, and following the book, but their range isn't quite as good as Citidel's.
Hope this helps a bit, and fully endorse Capt Podge and Tigertigers comments
cheers

Remember that even angels can have dirty faces and dirty clothes, like these two chaps.
The glossy effect has flattened now BTW

Neil,
The pixies in this lawn planter have been painted with Revell Aqua Color - Flesh 35 matt. Must get around to painting the cart.
