Hi Ted,

If I remember correctly, they are both just potentiometers accessible through the top of the esc and adjusted by a small screwdriver.

Which one is which, I cant remember, but I do know you can adjust them without fear of harm, or, at least, I did without damaging mine.

I think you set your throttle to neutral, and adjust the neutral pot so that the relay is just on its 'clicking' point and so that the relay is not energised when going ahead.

The speed adjustment is just to set the maximum speed forward and aft.

Hope this helps

Here are the set up instructions for the Electronize FR30HX
I should imagine they are the same.
Testing and set up
Use a small screwdriver to turn the speed range adjustment fully clockwise.
After checking that all the connections are correct, switch on first the transmitter
and then the receiver. With the transmitter on the motor may be running slowly, if not move the control on the Tx the check the system is working. Now is the motor going the right way with the Tx sending forward? If not use the servo reverse switch on the Tx
or reverse the motor connections. The neutral setting on the speed controler has an accuracy of better than 0.05% and needs no adjustment.
The trim control on the Tx should be adjusted so that the motor starts at an equal
distance either end of the stop position.

The speed range adjustment controls "span" and should be adjusted so that full throttle speed coincides with the joystick travel. Use a screwdriver to set speed
range adjustment fully clockwise then set the Tx to full speed.
Now turn the adjustment anticlockwise untill the motor speed begins to drop,
then slightly back to just reach full speed again.

Unlike almost all other speed controlers the frequency mode can be set to your preference. Use a small screwdriver and turn the mode screw, anticlockwise for low frequency or fully clockwise for high speed. Set the adjustment mid way for variable frequency mode. Generally the low frequency will give better slow speed operation because the pulsing effect helps start the motor from rest. On the other hand High frequency is more effective at higher speeds and will give longer running time from
the battery. The variable mode will give even better slow speed performance because
it is able to operate at even lower frequency whilst still providing the bennefits of high frequency operation at higher speeds.

Hope this helps Ted
