Halfords Black
« on: July 18, 2013, 10:28:35 pm »

Hi

This may seem like a supremely dumb question, but I've started to doubt myself need some help clearing it up!

I want to use a Halfords rattle can to do the black part of my hull of the Colombo Express. It will be going on top of the Halfords Red Plastic Primer.

Do I want to use Matt Black, or Satin Black?? I would have thought Matt but like I said, I started to wonder and now am not so sure?!?

Cheers.

p.s. this will be static only, if that matters.

Personally, I would use the matt and then finish it off with a coat or two of Humbrol matt varnish.

Well a lot depends if it is Below or above the waterline....Personally if it is Below the Waterline then Matt and if above then I would have said satin...But just to throw a spanner in the works is the rest of the Hull Matt or satin or gloss.

Erm,

It is the red version of http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_203947_langId_-1_categoryId_165495#tab1 - I think it is matt, it's what I would call matt anyway.

The black is above the 'waterline' the red will remain as the below the waterline.

Cheers.

Correct the red is a matt but it  is up to u whether the hull will be matt or satin......usually hulls are a satin black or even gloss
