I sit there with the French windows wide open................a can of ice cold cider in my hand, and just watch the awesome power of nature...............I love them, and have brought the kids up to both admire and not to be frightened of them too.

My most memorable ones have always been whilst camping in the Lakes, sat under the flysheet at the entrance to the tent, and just being amazed by them...........

I just love this time of year...............and as I type, I have just heard the distant rumble of one on the way.................yippee. O0 O0 O0 O0

Hi Neil.
Enjoy your thunder storms but pour your cider into a glass!! less chance of attracting lightning and dropping the can.
Howard.
P.S. I watch it from the bedroom window upstairs.

It's nice living here in Western Washington, but there are next to no thunder bumpers.  Gotta go back to Houston to get my fix.

For the real taste . . . . Put it into a wooden mug. Top tip from Somerset.
