Hi,

I have an ABC Hobby CESA 1882 electric power boat, twin motor and 3 battery bays, I haven't seen another one ever and was curious to know its value. Ive put a watercooled speed controller in it but its not plumbed in.

its a fast and maneuverable boat and its pretty long at 1.1meters

any responses would be great

Cheers

It used to be sold under the Kyosho Name,
It was a decent cheap fast model.
No idea of value.

The first time I discovered the world of rc boats was an article in an American mag  in the late 80s where they took the top rc car guys and made them race the Cesa model, always wanted one after that but could only find the kyosho jet arrow.
My internet is playing up at the moment but will scan the article for you when I can.

The ABC Cessa 1882 kit was very popular in it's day and they still pop up on ebay from time to time.

Never a brilliant model, quite a bit of problem with gears and gearbox but powerful went well.

One of my all time favourite boats and I modified mine many times, ending up with a 3.5cc race tuned engine and flexy shaft drive...... that wasn't sluchy I can tell ya!!!

I'll dig out some photos later....

Thanks for the responses!

I've taken some pictures of my own and these can be seen on my Photobucket :http://s940.photobucket.com/user/martyncarter53/library/CESA%201882%20RC%20model%20boat?sort=3&page=1

The kyosho Jet Arrow looks slightly different with a single motor. I think the CESA 1882 might have been more popular in Europe as all the videos on the web seem to be filmed there.

I watched a race in Dorset many years ago involving Cesa 1882s and the similar Gancia De Gancias, models not real ones...as they came round the bouy into the wind, all three lids on the three models racing, departed the boats, flying up in the air at the same time! Almost as funny as the little self righting Eco boats in the next race, which all seemed to fall over on the same turn, then proceeding to pop back up and carry on round the course :}
