...Didn't have that chance at the time.  Was literally about to lose the flat.  Cars sold, spent xmas and NY day that year painting and cleaning for selling.  Literally down to last few pennies at the time.  Estate agent robbed me of fees I didn't take later.  Not good times.  Just annoyed because the man at the counter I was handing DVD's over to was quite surprised at my collection.  I spent a long time building that up!

Found another great black & white I've never seen before: Twelve O'Clock High (1949) with Gregory Peck

Not a film but one of my favourite all time BBC series: Peter Kay's Car Share

I have it on in the background when 'building' stuff....  ( I use the term ironically! )

Not really film related but I've had netflix for over a year now and, well been pretty underwhelmed with it ever since.  As I spend a lot of time abroad I thought it was a good source of shows but I have been overwhelmed with american format guff which I don't like and stil not getting any of the shows I'm supposed to get.

Couple of weeks ago, having been stuck back home in UK consistently since end of February I had a message logging back-in saying "we notice you are away from home now" (no ***netflix, Im away and home all the time).  So on next screen view WOW!  Finally after a year I'm being offered an overwhelming amount of things to watch which is more like everyone else seems to get!  My only gripe is there are BBC shows in there and I absolutely unconditionally object to this as I already paid my licence fee so am now paying twice to fund the same thing!  BBC shows should absoutely NOT be available on Netflix but ho-hum.

....LOVE IT.  Best episode for me is when they skip work for the day and go to the safari.  Find the monkey on the roof after out at southport!  I just wished they killed it off better.  That last unscripted episode was shameful -absulutely half-arsed at best, "simply couldn't be bothered" end to it.  Really dissapointing from such a fantastic show which is a rare gem thes days!

Hi Martin,  how come every time I "quote" you it is impossible to exclude my reply mixed-in with your original post under the "blue bubble" quotation.  It's not the same when quoting other posts?  If I copy and paste your words It's OK but if I forget and just hit "quote" then the reply just gets mixed in.

Greetings RTS!

It seems to be a 'quirk' of the last Forum s/w update...
The s/w, SMF is quite ancient these day, not a commercial product, supported by enthusiasts...  a bit like us!
I had a long argument with them a little while ago asking them why SMF has such poor image support capabilities,
 it was bit like arguing with apocryphal version of King Canute!   {:-{

Anyway, the Quote thing or should I say mis-quote issue is due the the s/w ( Nesting BBCodes ) forgetting or misplacing the [ /quote] .

To fix, re-edit after post, adding [/qoute]
   before  your added reply.

Still doesn't work with extra closing quote but it does in preview and it only affects quoting you and no one else. Maybe its because you colour your text

If you want better image support then be prepared to add on some of the mods available, don't just rely on the base forum software. Many of the mods can make a major improvement over the basic smf forums.

I love sci-fi, particularly 80-90's renditions, they have so much better stories behind them rather than relying on CGI!

Found this week, a classic from my youth on youtube which, these days I wouldn't be so surprised if it was the truth now!  I absolutely love this film for many reasons including the star but a proper hard fight scene also, but not least the classic line...

"I came here to chew bubble gum and kick ass .......and I'm all out of bubble gum!"

I won't tell the name but it's a John Carpenter film.  Watch it and enjoy please....

This photo popped up on Facebook.... it's really intriguing me now!

I recognize her from an old film I've watched,  fairly recently......
I think she's a British actress, 1930's

( 'Photo was found  in my fathers army pay book during WW2. pic in the army pass book for 1943

   Vivien Leigh?....

I saw a end of a venerable  British ITV comedy the other day,   'Bless this House', with Sid James & Diana Coupland....

Sid says to his son:
" Here's a pound, take him to the pictures. And don't forget the change.'

... £1 ????? Was the Odeon ever that cheap... for Two?!
