New to the board
« on: August 23, 2013, 08:33:38 pm »

Hello everyone ,

I am new to the board having mostly been a model car racer for the last 20 years or so .  My dad is more of a modeller than me but I'm trying to learn 'proper' model making .

Between us , among others , we have an Aerokits 34" Crash Tender and Sea Scout and Deans Marine HMS Verulam and  a Deans Flower Class I've had around 25 years which is still not finished .....

I currently have 2 balsa models in process , a 12" Dutch River Tug from December 1956 Model Maker and PS Royal Falcon by Vic Smeed from plans , a build review of which was in a 1955 Model Maker.

The Model Maker magazines were my dad's from the 1950's and 60's , I love looking through them and seeing how things have progressed over the years (or not!)

Aside from boats I also collect early Tamiya R/C Cars

Do you have a copy of December 1951 Model Maker Peter? It was issue no2.

Thanks Ray,

Ian, I'm sorry I don't have that issue, I have one from 1952 but most are from 1955 on when my dad had them.
