Advice/opinions wanted, please..
« on: March 14, 2017, 08:47:50 am »

Gentlemen...I guess you all know the Deans Marine Waveney lifeboat, the 'almost ready to run' version?

My hands and fingers are playing up so much nowadays, it's taking me longer and longer to build anything so I'm contemplating buying one of these and just adding a few detail bits to it.

I'd appreciate any comments/criticisms/opinions, please...

Tends to be tender, I had to use nine 4ah to get it on the waterline, three cells X three sticks. Lead acid, I think are a no no. I suppose you could use LiPos. Were not available when I built mine. Also, do not forget that the white line is not the waterline. It is below and that is so the white line does not get dirty when lying afloat. nemesis

It's a nice little model Rich, but who
sells 1/30 scale lifeboat bits for the
detailing you would like.

Well, there seems to be some controversy over what scale it actually is, Ned...it'll be a while before I can afford to buy it, so there's plenty of time to fathom these things out.
