2 or 3 hole bowsie?
« on: August 30, 2013, 05:20:00 pm »

Hi, can anyone tell me whether I should use a 2 or 3 hole bowsie? The Krispie I am rebuilding had two hole bowsies and I was going to reuse them but looking around it seems most use 3 hole bowsies?

Thanks Wayne

Hello Wayne'
Use 3 hole ones - - much better than the 2 hole ones.
IF, the 3 hole ones start to slip under load, wind the "running" line once around the outside of the Bowsie.
This gives a lot more friction and grip.

I would think the three hole version would be easier to adjust and secure.
However if you are rebuilding to be a true Krispie then
two hole bow sides rule.

Thanks John & Ned, off to make some 3 hole bowsies now - I tried a 2 hole and it did not seem very secure, pulling against the stay would probably loosen it.
