Good day (and I hope the Brit summer continues - it was awesome when we were over in June/July!)

I am hoping somebody can help with information on HMS Warsash (Pennant M1112),and as far as I can ascertain was previously HMS Boulston, built by Richards (?) and apparently sold for scrap 28th October 1974. I have found one photograph on the Internet and wonder if there might be more lurking in some 'forgotten archive'?

I would dearly like to make a model of this vessel.  If anyone can point me to where I might obtain drawings I'd be most thankful.

My reason for latching onto this vessel is that for many years my son and family have lived in (and near) Warsash (have a yacht in Gosport) and I've spent many happy hours on the Warsash waterfront watching the maritime world go by! Not only that; Warsash is a pretty darn historic place after all!

There might some confusion here. Some of the references I've seen say that Warsash had been HMS Alfriston and some HMS Boulston.

Alfriston was Warsash 1954 to 1958.
She then reverted to Alfriston.
Boulston became Warsash in 1961 and
was scrapped in 1974.

Hi Robin.

Nurton was converted to a Mine hunter so would look a lot different on the sweep deck
with no loop sweep and winch.
54 Ton by Sirmar is the Minesweeper Version with the open bridge.
Not sure if Wars ash had an enclosed bridge.

Re: Naming of sweepers.
For service with RNR divisions, any ships allocated to this duty were renamed with the traditional name used by each division. On completion of service with the RNR they reverted back to their original names. The reserve ships formed the 101 squadron - later became the 10th.
The Nurton mentioned above was (in my much younger days) a sweeper serving with the Vernon Squadron (red V on funnel)  - may have been the senior ship in the squadron (black band around the funnel) - but my grey cell may have misted over a bit. I can remember doing maintainance on her though.

Apologies for the tardy response dictated by some minor problems associated with advancing years 
Many thanks for you various inputs.  It's clear that HMS Warsash was only that 1960 - 1967 and then reverted to HMS Boulston thereafter.

At present I am still working on a model of the Irvin and Johnson trawler "Nerine" which became a Disa class trawler minesweeper  HMSAS Nerine during the war.  She achieved fame as the vessel from which the first coelacanth known to science was caught December 1938 and then made a second claim to fame as the most involved vessel in the eventual rescue of passengers and crew from the ill-fated SS Dunedin Star!

ps. Christian - we have "spoken' before re. my model of the RTTL which I'm ashamed to say I have yet to finish because of that dratted complicated mast arrangement!!
