Sorry TheLongBuild  I meant to say its the DJI 550 Hexcopter(6 props)  not a quadcopter (4 props)

4 props total reliance on electronics is not a bad thing even with roads either side of a public park.

Wonder what sort of reaction one would get if you dropped a toy RC boat into the local public baths on a mixed bathing day? %)  Less directions to fail? So it must be safe  DOH!

I dont see what superb point you are trying to make about flying in a public park with a road either side, as for one for the numpty brigade ???
local bylaws are always checked and unless there is a spacific byelaw prohibiting flying then you are ok to fly so I am not using ignorance as an excuse
as to the video you link to yes uncontroled crash of a Quadcopter not a helecopter or a Hexcopter which uses six propelers that if 1 or two of the props fail the electronics built into the craft will allow safe flight of the craft on the remaining 4 props total reliance on electronics is not a bad thing even with roads either side of a public park.
Regards Mark
As a avid quadcopter flyer I second everything you have said Mark

it only takes one! .......
insured property, unsteady!
when it hurts or kills a guy .................

We made a decision: to Gazouland (show similar Wickteed) we do not allow the flying objects.
neither

Only takes one what??? and having insurance which I have is not going to stop my quad crashing I dont fly silly because I have insurance and I am sure the guy who died flew in a similar vane, there have been many incident with model aircraft be they planes cars boat helecopters quadcopter and the like with a fair few injuries no dout but it wont be the last time someone is injured as long as everyone thinks and act sensibly then incidents will be reduced.
the only problem you have GAZOU is you can`t control the airspace over Gazouland so someone can take off from the field next to you and over fly your show and there is nothing that can be done as long as the person in control of the craft dosn`t break any local laws which if they do then they deserve the full force of the law comming down on them.

Mark you're right. someone can take off the field next door and make an accident, but the organizer of Gazouland not be worried.
