Hello
In the 1930s Sir Tommy Sopwith got beaten by the Yanks while he was sailing Endeavour.
When he returned home, he put on the front page of the Times newspaper the following.

                                            Brittania Rules the Waves
                                            America Waives the Rules
Still true today !!!.

Nothing of any importance has been seen in the Australian media for the last 2 months due to the Election fiasco.
I did not know the races were eventaking place. <:(
"Come on Kiwi, come on."
I wonder if the USA was in the lead if we would have heard about it?  %%

Only one US citizen on the USA boat.
Nearly makes it an all British Commonwealth effort, on both sides.

Weren't there some similar shenanigans between
Gar Woods "Miss America" and Kaye Dons "Miss England"
in the Harmsworth Trophy Powerboat races in the ealy 1930s.
(? 1931 or 1934 perhaps)

I have a vague memory of the American organisers being
accused of changing the venue to suit Gar Woods Boat.

I am sure somebody on this forum will know the whole
story and correct me if I am mistaken!
