which motor is recommended please help
« on: September 10, 2013, 05:46:47 pm »

hi I am building a 48 inch sea queen but don't really want to go brushless
any ideas on  a motor ? its fitted with a 65mm 3 blade brass prop is this too big ?
I will be running it on 12v some people say torpedo 850 some say a torpedo 800 any ideas guys and what prop do you advise ?
I do have a  Graupner speed turbo neodym 700 bb with a 2.7:1 gearbox would this be any good ? or do you advise I bite the bullet and go brushless ?
cheers in advance for any help

I cant see you having any problems with the 800 belt drive system.. I have seen these power trains on prop's as large as 76mm.

whats the battery? gel cell/nimh etc?
