Found in antique shop in Beverley
« on: September 11, 2013, 10:15:58 am »

Morning all
This might be of interest to some one in North Yorkshire/Humberside  .It is a trawler called the Artic Ranger ,I would guess about the 60s ,in a display case .I did ask and was told as far as she knew it was display only .Printed on ticket was Built by the ships cook It was out of my price range @£295 ,so i did not try a deal.Could be worth a look as a project.
I have nothing to do with the seller or the shop .The shop is in the main shopping area

Sounds like it could be one of Trawlercooks models.

We'll be in Beverley on saturday, makes a change from having morning coffee in Hull. I'll take a quick look around, do you have the shop name?

Arctic Ranger was quite a well known trawler in Hull in the 60's early 70's, its sister ship the Corsair is moored in the river Hull as a floating museum to Hull's fishing heritage.

Morning all
I think the name of the street is Toll Gavel .If you stand at the entrance of Toll Gavel church with your back to the entrance on the pedestrian precinct and turn left the shop is along there .it is upstairs in the left hand room ,or it was last Monday 9 sept

Seen a few of his efforts locally.
OK if you want a trawler to put on the lake
He builds them fairly quickly and it shows.
They do look good on the lake.

just looked through Trawlerman's  gallery on Ships nostalgia and although he has built Arctic Viking and Arctic Warrior he hasn't posted any pictures of an Arctic Ranger and that forum is where he normally posts his pictures, so without seeing a picture of the model I can only surmise it might not be Colin's work.
