I seem to have developed similar problems in recent months.
Usually because my CPU is working at 100%, crazy I know.
It may also be due to low bandwidth/high demand for internet (kids come home from school time).

The cause for me seems to be moving between tabs when using GoogleChrome (Thinks to myself, maybe I should revert to a different browser). Especially if I have several tabs open, especially if some have video.

If you wait it will clear up, or in chrome if you use the red cross in the square in the far right. This will basically crash your browser. When you reopen Chrome there it will offer to restore your last session. Click restore. First thing to do is close down any tabs you don't need.

It may also help to close down any other applications you have running first.

Problems will continue until the programmers are given a good kicking to make ALL compatible. "If you use ****** instead of ******" is not the answer, they get away with it because they CAN, we just let them.

I also have firefox, also not a fan of IE.

I think a few problems is that they are trying to have to fudge software to work with mobile aps. And forgetting the rest of us.

Programme that MHS or whatever they want to call themselves this week has had a basic problem in not being able to "Fold" long links since they went online with the M.E. forum. Still not solved. "If you do this  - - - " NO, sort the basic problem out. Wonder how many would tolerate "Our make of car WILL ONLY run on X manufacturers petrol/diesel??????

When Chrome started a few years ago now it was fast, IE was sluggish by any standard.  As time has gone on, Chrome has started to grow bloated and hogs resources, slowing itself down progressively as the session goes on.  The newest IE seems faster overall.
I run a program called mimarsinan rubber ducky - daft name but a really handy meter that lets me see when things are getting too busy, and Chrome is almost invariably the culprit.  I also try to keep the programs that run at startup in check - 80-90% of them are totally unwanted until they are actually needed, and only serve to slow down the system.
Then theres malware scanning, registry cleaning and system drive defragging plus the disc cleaner utility (and especially the "advanced" option) that MS chuck in.  Windows operates by making an untidy mess, but being very good at keeping track of where it dumped the bits.  Keeping track of the mess does use resources, so leaving the drive messy slows the system, cleaning and tidying gives you much of the performance back.

Do you have Silverlight installed ?  recently this has been causing issues, I cleared it from my PC and ok now.
