It's been my experience that epoxy works best but a good quality epoxy rather than household stuff like ar**dite.
Some of the more exotic super glues work but not as well.

Aluminium is very smooth and usually greasy.

Best bet it clean it with a de-greaser and rough it up slightly.  I used good quality Superglue and clamps.  The joints won't take stress however.

For aluminium Epoxys work fine but for extra strength and ease of use I always use a toughened cyano adhesive such as our `Flexy Cyano` , it works like a superlglue but contains a rubber like polymer that absorbs impact and also gives great tensile and peel strength.

I you have a lot to glue I would go with scotchweld 9323, two drewbacks eight days to fully cure at room temp., and around £100 a for 500ml.
