Hulls
« on: September 27, 2013, 09:12:00 pm »

Hi looking over the net at hulls interested in  D class racing any suggestions? I like the Patriot but any clues on size and price? I see lots of mentions of boats but not sure where they come from  the likes of Makaras and Apaches I have followed the links on OMRAs site.

the patriot is a good boat, raced in omra and bmprs and do very well indeed, but also look at the pacer from big t racing, mark copleys fantom  i think hes done a new boat now but dont hold me to that, waverider does some good hulls, tony ellis as well, and john at shipwright, its all about personal choice, sigma is another good hull, theres plenty to choose from, what works for one person may not be to your liking so choose wisely, its all in the setting up of the boat,i hope you have luck in finding what you want ,i know you will enjoy it its very good fun all the best

Hi guys

Read this thread with interest. I too are seeking a new D class boat for 2014 and unsure which one to get for my Christmas present.  Agree with comments, Patriot and Apache seem to be doing well on the inland waters.

The new PMC Stratos  must be on people's wish list too.....

Hi chaps, I run a Makara (Nimrif Models), and a Stealth by (John Smith) both very good sea boats ,and they hold their own on lakes as well, but we must not forget Mark Copley,s Phantom 145, that also is a very good boat..personnally what I dont like is when people come along and mold someone else.s design  and get away with minor alterations to the deck, call it theirs and take credit for it (that sucks).its great to see innovation first hand, and these guys mentioned do just that..so if you need a boat go to the originals they are the ones who need your support
