ROYAL NAVY SUNSET CEREMONY
« on: October 13, 2013, 04:52:04 pm »

I hope the Mods will leave this here please,as I have already placed it under Warships and strangely havent had a single reply boo hoo.
Could anyone tell me on average how many, and which bandsmen would have been involved in the Sunset Ceremony aboard a Battleship (HMS RAMILLIES) please?Looking far ahead,to when my model of her is finished,I aim to finish off each days sailing with the band playing a recording of the evening hymn and last post. Thanks,Mick F

Hi Mick,

I've got it in my mind that the bands were from the Royal Marines embarked on board!
Might be worth contacting the RM museum at Southsea

Hope this helps
Cheers Kev
