Tug Hin Lee No. 2
« on: October 19, 2013, 10:24:19 am »

Hi All,

I am out in China at the moment building a series of four RAstar 3200 ASD Escort tugs but I have come across a little tug which is used in the yard which would make a great base for a fun model build.

My dear friend Ray Malone likes to build something a little bit different so this might be up his street!

I am just trying to put photos of her up but if anyone is seriously interested i can ask the MD of the yard for the design drawings for her and send on.

Cheers.

Darren.

Go to Attachments and other options - Attach - Browse, and find your picture. The image should be a JPEG and around a thousand pixels along the longest edge, I can't remember the actual max dimensions off the top of my head but it's near to this.

Hi Martin,

She is great fun to watch moving about, both units have gear boxes so not only do the rotate through 360 degrees but they also go ahead and astern!

The rotation is controlled by two little dials and you need to be like an octopus to control; it all!

I will try and get some photos of the controls next week.

Brgds.

Now that's something different, I like it  :-))  What do you think the dimensions are?

I would think that she is about 10m x 4m.  I am flat out with commissioning a boat at the moment and once things calm down a bit i will get a set of drawings.

I have already talked with the owners daughter and she will look for me.

They perform like the SDM tugs.  ok2
And it would perform well , if the the skipper can pilot it.

Al calls the EDDY tug "Squirrely Boat".
