D class spark ignition new boat for 2014
« on: October 30, 2013, 09:05:58 pm »

Hi

Will be building a new boat for 2014 to replace my trusted miami 55 which has gained me 2 second places at bmprs over 2013/2012.

Have read loads of info from several sources, Bmprs / omra/ suppliers etc.

Lots of boats come into the shopping basket, Apache, Phantom, Arrow, pacer, Patriot, stratos.

Have to say I am still undecided. Need a boat which will handle a tuned zen at full paced through turns in choppy water, which my miami struggles with. Also want a boat with decent access through hatch to allow plenty of space for internal turned pipe with a 90' manifold.

Any thoughts from boat owners will be appreciated before my good lady wife orderes my Christmas present.

Thanks

I'll throw the Swedish Avanti hull into the mix.... Runs well on big lakes over here. No web site I'm afraid but here's a few pics:

Cracking photos Ian! And another boat into the mix. :-))
Garry how on earth are you going to be able to decide what hull to buy?
Perhaps what you should do is give me your trusted identical twin your cheque book. That way not only will Christmas bring you a dream hull, it will be a total surprise!  {-) {-) {-) {-)
Keep us posted buddy!

Very few pictures of the Avanti, just tried looking myself, found 2 more on the Swedish forum. I'll see if I can find some video or runing pics.

The Avanti is a further development of another Swedish hull, the Faluga. This hull has a few World Championships to its name.

Hi Ian
Putting aside my above banter with my twin brother, please do share with us any running still photos or video clips.
I much appreciate your input.
Cheers

The larger Faluga at WC in 2012

Do a search for VM 2012 and you will find video of the 035 final.

I'll search out the video.
