5.8G Radio, Any Info ???
« on: November 04, 2013, 10:31:20 am »

Does anyone know anything about 5.8G radio control sets.

Am led to believe they are new and being used predominately by the helicopter (Quad Choppers) fraternity.

Just guessing they would work similar to existing 2.4 Radio Control sets but on different wave band.

Eventually it may be possible they will they find their way to boats.

Aren't these part of the c**p used for video in the FPV models? Still uses 2.4 guggles for the control systems.

The only items I have seen so far have been for sending FPV A/V back from the model to a receiver that the pilot can view, rather than for sending control information the other way.

You need 5.8ghz if you are using 2.4 as control.
One of our members had a 2.4 vid link from a tug
but the video was scrambled as soon as someone
started using a Planet Tx.
Other 2.4 rigs had no effect on it.

5.8 googlies is used for fpv for video transmition from quads as long as you stay below 25mw of power any higher and you break the law unless you have a ham licence (no not that type of ham) you could use the same gear on a boat or car with no interferance from 2.4 googlies
