Air boat plans
« on: November 04, 2013, 07:42:52 pm »

Hi all out there. I'm looking for some info. I've seen a air boat on my local pond, and they look like fun, it was a Swamp Doug or sum thing, There's one sold by Hobby King, but I was wondering if anybody knows where I can get a plan or kit of something similar

This is one I made and is great fun to sail. If its along the lines you are looking for I can see if I can find the plans. It was a free plan in Model Boats.

Why not just go to the canadianairboats.com website and check out the gallery. Then you can build one the right shape - hard chine forward, round bilge aft.

Was recently chastised by MHS via another web site for posting a plan for free (original1982 from a now defunct Mag.) contravening "Copyright" rules so it sticks in ones craw every time I see this advertiser selling at overinflated prices for copyrighted material with impunity.

Having said that, plan I posted was originally 70P but now costs £12.50 from the "owners"

If it was an original I can't see that there is an issue ?.

No TLB, a PDF   %)

Biggest rip off the "Owners" do is a freebie that was then sold for 1/- 6d (7 1/2p) and is now also £12.50.  >>:-(

You should join rc universe they have awhole forum dedicated to airboats theres lots of info out there,as for plans you don't need a real plan, just gtet some industrial foam block, cut to shape and wrap the whole thing with epoxy and glass cloth.I was planning to build one but never got round to it,this one was for a strimmer motor,if I can find the pics of what I had in mind ill post them but an airboat is the simplest thing to build you don't really need plans if you use the foam..
