Aus.Tuna Boat "Alanaron" 1994
« on: November 07, 2013, 02:22:21 am »

Hi back again, I did the plan's off photo's of a S.A Tuna Boat "Empris-Lady" , I named the model after my Brother's 2 children,Alana & Aaron.
I pre cut the frames etc before leaving for sea, and started the construction of her in April 94, the hull is constructed the same as the previous model of 7mm ply frames and keel, and using 2mm ply for the hull's skin, This time I used 'Chux Super Wipe cloth (yes they were new not used) and Resin for sealing and strengthening the inside of the hull.
Finished her through July, and did the float test on her in the December after arriving back from the Gulf.......thank u for viewing........

Hi  Derekwarner ,yes it is in the top wheel house of the trawler that I drove till end of 1999 the 64' "Karamanda-Adele" (photo attached) our home port was Brunswick Heads N.S.W. I had a large alluminium storage bin for prawn cartons at the back of the wheelhouse I would store my bandsaw and sander etc in it , and the top of the storage bin lid acted as a good bench top for cutting etc on..
The larger trawler we had built in 2000 ( 72') I had a very small section in the back of its top wheel house with the bandsaw ,sander and drill press housed there permanently for doing my messy cutting and sanding etc..

I really like your builds - the quality is amazing and you make something so difficult look so easy.  One of these days I will have to try a scratch build myself and its builds like this that inspire me.
