I found I had to extend the "A" frame slots forward by 1/8" to get correct distance between "A"frame and rudder tubes. See my blog if the build below.

I'd be inclined to agree with this, I remember having to move my A frame slots forward but I couldn't tell you how much.

Nice start to your build, good luck and enjoy the rest!

Yes, I found the markings on the hull and the drawing dimensions didn't quite match, for both the A-frames and propshaft openings.
You'll need to make some choices yourself, but making sure everything is true and free before gluing is vital.

little update
i now have a intimate understanding of the term "fiddly"

finally got both shafts epoxied in and lined up "i hope" they look good and the numbers all match
it was a case of measuring 20 times praying once and gluing after applying gobs of tape to hold everything in place

here are the pictures
the Hull now gets put aside untill the speed control and bow thruster arrive from UK
going to work on the bridge and start applying the hull framing

thanks for looking

fire monitors

Tip ................

Regarding the smoke stacks, it is easier to fit the ladder rungs and ancillaries before you secure them to the cabin.

What sort of angle is there on the motor mount ?  It does look too much towards the horizontal.

its braced at a 45 degree angle so i can get at it if anything goes wrong a few people in my club have had problems with bow thrusters and were unable to get at the unit to fix them so they left them disabled  which is why i mounted it this way

45 degrees back might work out OK, only the picture looks more like 80 degrees so I was worried.

The seal will stop water ingress to the hull so that's fine.

Looking at the MS drawings I'd say 60° would be better, to line up with the deck opening under the superstructure. But from the photo it looks like you have mounted it a bit further forward, so 45° might be about right. (The main thing is to be able to get a screwdriver in to the mounting flange screws.)

here is a better shot of it with the deck tacked in place

its very easy to get at as far as i can tell

and yes it is mounted much closer to the bow about 2 1/2 inches closer than what the plans state

motor mounts in as well
