They changed the design of the later Type 70's and raised the bridge one deck level. I now see why....

In the video, I notice a large rectangular 'notch' in the keel line near the bow. This is visible when the bow is out of the water.
What is this for?

Are you looking at the "Bulb" nose? Sonar? There is a vee notch further back err AFT, sorry
