Good Radio gear

OK can I just point out to people some thing that may help for a trouble free boating DAY. .

I cant understand for the life of me why you would spend years / months / along with hundreds of hours on a model and hundreds of  Pounds / Dollars etc. on the Motors - ESC - Li Po's So now your beautiful £300 model   is now to be controlled with cheap £20 TX and RX . ..

Please spend a little more on a good system like Futaba / Spectrum and you will have a trouble free day I know some £20 systems are good but when you have 2 or more models I see people swapping there TX reverse switches but its to late the model shot into reverse and the damage is done then they get other model out and the same thing happens try and go for a Good TX with minimum 10 model memory and say 6 channel trust me later on in life you wish you had as switching on lights fog horns etc. comes into it own

this would be the low end  TX & RX system but is better than any £20 system and it has model memory

Very true but its 100 times better than a £20 one and a 2nd hand DX6i going cheap I'm very weary of but for a NEW 6 Chanel TX its good value for money . .  that and a can of spray paint  {-)

Lots of 'Thumbs Up' on Youtube but as been mentioned MANY times before - watch out for HobbyKing after sales support!

Loads of people swear by the Turnigy 6 and 9 channel units with the after-market firmware.  Not used one myself but they're supposed to be excellent.

I'm personally got too much money invested in 40MHz gear to consider another £100 to replace it with 2.4GHz...

I use a cheep raido link 4 ch system. Never had any problems.
Yes if you have a fast electric or I/C  were a loss of signal could cause a lot of damage, i agree get a decent system. But for slow scale boats not worth the money. You can get 4ch or 6ch for naff all nower days . just get a new system for each new boat as it has never been cheaper save all the probelms swaping the raido from boat to boat.

I have used the planet radios and they seem to work ok and never had any problems but not gone too far away from shore.
