Can't wait!

I'm currently watching Adventures in Time and Space on BBC 2 about the beginnings of Doctor Who.
The first tv trailer was brilliant, I think I counted over 60 items from the 50 years of Doctor Who!

Another minor whovian, I don't dress up if that's what you mean!  :}

I am the only one who remembers the first episode.  <:(

Let's not lose sight of todays anniversary!  The sad loss of a famous PT Boat skipper and namesake of one of the USN's aircraft carriers, oh and he was president as well.

Re: Kennedy, yes, the great hope that never was...... and the world loves a good conspiracy!

I also ended up watching BBC2's ' An Adventure in Space and Time.' very reveling about William Hartnell, he was very much in the jenre of "I am an ACTOOR!" and "Do you know who I am dear boy?!" I then watch the first episode of Dr Who on BBC Four.... why did they repeat everything they said 2 or 3 times?! Just to stretch the script out?! How did that program ever survive???

Re: %0 years. When was the last time you saw a Great Dr Who episode?!
 Sorry Whovians, prepared to be disappointed... the odds are against it.   :((

Not a program I ever got into, even in the days of black and white I thought it was awful, the special effects were pretty ropey and the acting ?...got more pleasure from the likes of Fireball XL5, Stingray and Bill & Ben - at least the actors in those weren't quite as wooden!

 The first Series were broadcast live, can you imagine that today? Lots of Series were, with film Clips for the outside scenes. There were some hilarious bloopers then, but we didn't know better and enjoyed them anyway.You must realise that T.V. was only B/W and our Screens maybe 15 Inch. I remember the Play "1984" was also broadcast live, it made such an Impact that they did it again the following evening, also live.

I've been enjoying all the build - up programmes so far. Adventure in Space and Time was excellent and I started watching the first series last night. I too can remember that episode, tiny black and white telly with a fuzzy picture. Looks better these days!

Looking forward to watching it downstairs in the lounge this evening - and probably again later when technical guru son can get off his **** and get the Sky box connected to his giant home cinema upstairs!
