Brass Sheet
« on: June 19, 2007, 09:23:38 am »

I need some brass sheet to make up two rudders for my HMS Bulldog, each about 32mm x 50mm and 1.5mm thick.
Any names of suppliers please.

And another thing, when will we have just one measuring system.  Imperial in decimal and fractions, convert one to the other then convert again to metric, just metric please.

Thanks Dicky,
Good site, but the thickest they seem to do is 0.75mm, I would like 1.5mm - could solder two together as a last resort I suppose.

Metal Supermarkets at http://www.metalsupermarkets.com   is a great source of off-cuts at reasonable prices. My local branch is happy to let me rummage among the bits and pieces.

Hope this helps.

Just a general thought, before my digital vernier was 'removed' from my workshop, I could also use it as a metric/imperial converter.
Set the reading at say 3mm, convert the scale to inches (push of a button) and there is your answer, can't say what it is, you will have to contact the low life who now has it !!!!
