Perkasa help
« on: October 20, 2013, 08:57:46 am »

Recently purchased from ebay, as it was local, 2 miles away, and inexpensive for a winter project. The cardboard box to the rear contained the 1/200 Arizona whose hull is 926 mm. So I believe the Perkasa measures roughly around 36", tape measure has gone walkabout. Would that be 1/32, near enough 1/35? Any idea for weapons fittings as they were knackered?

It is 1/32 and ditch the motor.
These motors sell on ebay for £30-00 plus.

The motor is way too slow for a patrol boat.
There will be lots of ideas of power trains but the Deccaperm Motor will only rev at just below 4000 rpm which is far too slow.
Have a search on here for some motors/props that can give you decent performance.
1 thing to consider is to use light batteries, MiNim or Lipo.

Hi Robert,

If you go for a single motor in your Perkasa, the 700 motor is a good choice if you can keep the boat light by using Lipo's as a powersource.
Also look at suitable outrunner brushless motors as a much lighter and smaller replacement, did I mention more efficient and more powerful?

To get an idea what a relative small outrunner can do, look at the video of my (unfinished) MAS in my build thread:
