Race Starting Tape (recording)
« on: November 25, 2013, 12:52:02 pm »

Can anyone tell me where I could get a copy of the starting tape for obviously starting the races.  The one we currently have beeps at 30 & 20 sec and then individually from 10 down to 1.  It is currently on Cassette Tape and we are thinking of moving into at least the 20th. Century by having it on CD.
MP3 format is not an option.
Thanks in advance

Can you record your tape onto a computer and then cut a CD?

Odd how these questions come in bunches - I got a pointer to a site where you can down load start sequences for both MP3 and CD.

Is there a good reason for not going MP3?  The last very basic MP3 player I got was under a tenner.  Delivered, with a charger lead and headphones.

Wow so all the racers  get plugged into your machine :}  or to make it really exciting they all have there own recordings and players  that would be a good punch up to watch

Yes, it would be an added spectacle O0 , but it would be difficult to tell whether the dissent was caused by the use of the earphones or just the usual  >>:-( <*<
Just like a Walkman, portable CD and most similar items, the device has an earphone socket that provides an output good to work an amplified speaker.  These are also widely available at low cost.  just look for the battery powered types.  By "widely available" I got mine in Asda, by "low cost", it was about £12.

I have managed to source a start tape for which I have a gadget for putting into MP3 format and then burnt one to CD.  Easy when you know someone who can do it for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Many thanks to those who replied.
