 :-)) :-)) :-))

I have another project waiting ... I have my Jeep in the Garage ... I should find a job ... I could do nothing for a while ...  ok2

What has to be done .... what can be done?

Ladder on the wheelhouse .... DONE!!!

Two "ropeholder" at the stern ... DONE!!!

Radarreflector-thing on the roof ... DONE!!!

The two tubes at the back that can be used when fishing with 4 nets ... DONE!!!

Testing the N. Loredana in the Bathtub ... DONE!!!

CONCLUSION:
I can lift and carry the ship by myself. The wheelhouse has to be removed for safety reasons.
2 kgs of lead wheight where neccessary to get the stern down to a good waterlevel of 10mm over the estimated waterlevel. No, I wont build a hull with less weight.
The big propeller creates a lot of power in the bathtub. I hope it will also run very smoothly at low RPM.
The rudder is a little bit on the small side (original size scaled down). We'll see how it works at the lake.
The bow truster .... complete failure!!! Pump works and pumps but no movement .... stern is moving at snails pace .... the bow truster it has to go!!!
I'll take it out. With it also the RC controller and the wiring. This will save some 300-400g at the bow. Maybe 1kg (instead of 2kg) lead in the stern will do the job. I'll do another test tomorrow.
Maybe if I work like a maniac I can make the trawldoors and the net ....  ok2

Leave the thruster tube and perhaps plate the shaft hole up and then remove the electrics saving you a little time to do those trawl doors and give the impression there is a Thruster there. It would leave no more or less drag then if it was working saving you needing to fill and paint the holes over  %%

You're right .... within minutes it was removed from the hull ...  :-))

Another test in the water .... I think I added some 1.5kg in the hull. More is not possible.
BTW the water from the bathtub is used to water the plants on our balcony.

View of the service openings on the decks. Full of dust it is ....

Everything was cleaned with special minitools for the vaacum cleaner.

A foto from the netwinch if you want to access the motor. It also can be placed on the working deck instaed of lifting it out.

Pallett filled with ropes.

Stern is finished. Spotlights have some clear plastic sheet on it. Trawldoor and net will be manufactured later this year. It was very difficult to get all ropes to the right lenght. But I managed to do it.

Batteries and RC controller are ready for sundays modell show.

Lovely attention to detail even in the last moments of the build  :-)) I am pleased that the removal of the thruster gubbins was a. easy, and b. didn't cause much damage and frustration at what is essentially the eleventh hour.

I hope your friend likes her, as it is a once in a lifetime gift.

God luck for the weekend, may your batteries run well and your tranmitter have a long range  :}

Thanks a lot ...
My friend in italy asked if I could change the bow truster and make it work properly ....  <*<
Another friend from Facebook asked why I didn't make all lamps working (red over red / green over red)  <*<
I wont write my thoughts here .....  >:-o

I loaded the batteries. I think there is a problem with either the voltage or the RC-controller.
Everytime motor is turning, the rudder starts to move a little bit (Interferences?).
I changed tried to get the wiring away from the power wires but nothing changed.
I am thankful for all quick help. I have a couple of hours tomorrow to get things OK again. Even to make a quick dash to the local modellers shop.

Today I put some netting material on deck .... just for the show.

Hi Danielle, could be a faulty servo, can you change the servo to a spare and see if the problem continues???

No I do not have a spare one. To late to drive to the hobby shop and buy another one ....
Yesterday everything was working fine .... could it be that the batteries have more than 12V?

Could the batteries need charging???  quite common that low power causes servo twitching

Freshly loaded or freshly charged?? big difference, try a re-charge might save a trip to the modelshop, also have you checked that any plugs might have moved or are not making proper contact etc.

No worries, what about the possibility that you have disturbed one or other plug into the  receiver or slightly damaged the servo wires???

if it worked ok before the removal of the bow thruster its got to be in that area

Is the model still in the same room as it was before the problem occurred ?

It is just possible that something electrical or maybe magnetic is causing the interference  %)

Ray.

If you're indoors and too close to the receiver with your transmitter, the signal may overdrive (distort) and cause erratic behaviour.
Not sure whether this is your problem, but something to keep in mind.

Thanks a lot my friends!!! I will resolve the problem this week. Got worse at the lake. Impossible to go faster than 3/4 trottle without the servo doing funny jumps to the left and right ....  {:-{
Never mind ... it will be solved soon!

Yesterday was the day for the launch of the N. Loredana. It was the yearly event of the GIT-Gruppo Idromodellistico Ticinese at the Lake "Lago Dosso" in San Bernadino southeast Switzerland.
Everything went well apart the problems with the RC. Couldn't go faster than 3/4 trottle. Never mind!!!!
The ship floats just like the original! Reaction of the rudder forward and rearward is just like an original fishtrawler. It is a wonderful model to see on the lake!
The 540Motor with 6:1 reduction gear and 80mm propeller gives the ship enough power in all situations without going too fast. There must be some 1800rpm at full trottle. Lights and turning radars add to the realism.
The non working bow truster wasn't a problem. Parking at a dock can be done easely if you know how to steer it the right way.
Going full speed forwards the ship looks just like the original one!!!!

Here some pictures of the ship ....

... and one video made by my lovely wife Anita. (she did a lot of videos!)

I resolved the problem with the radiocontrol .... the servo was tested (hellish to take it out) and is working fine. BEC is now from a 4x1.5V battery box. The battery box itself didn't help. So I gave some aluminiumfoil a change to help. I put the aluminium foil over all electrical wires (main 12V wires) and the motor. Both together resolved the problem perfectly.

She is so stable given her sleeker lines Danielle. I could see the relief and joy in your response at the end of the video!

It is interesting to look at the first few images of a build to see how far it has come, though Photo*ucket has managed to make that difficult  >:-o

As she looked from the very start - a beautiful model Danielle, to be proud of !
One tiny niggle ! That flag looks really phoney sticking straight out ! If it is cloth could it be crumpled a tiny bit a bit like my wotsit on the left ?  %)

Thanks a lot you two!!!!!  :-)) :-)) :-))

After the show means repairs and updates ... I reworked the whole railings ... now they are more sturdy.
And the ladder to the roof was falling apart. Had to put some more plastic profiles on it.

My client wished that the red/red and whit/green lights on the mast work. I'll do that by taking out the LEDs and replacing them with 12V minibulbs. The wiring will be outside the mast as everything is glued and closed. I told him that before ...

Hope he will like this option!
