Mark

Thanks a lot.

No I do not have a deadline .... I am jobless for the second time this year ... plenty of time each day to work on the model!
And I have another nice trawler waiting to be built ....  ok2

Thanks a lot Mark. I will find another job soon ... not the first time I have to look for another job.  ok2
Actually as I built the Cornela Marie I was 4 months at home without a job and built most parts of the CM then.

Having crushed my kort nozzle last weekend driving home I am inspired by your reinforcement of the ruddeg area to use your approach when doing the repair work.

Lovely work as usual and I echo previous comenst and hope you find another job shortly.

Thanks a lot! Had an interview today for a job .... lets see if its something for me.

Opened up the hole for the bow truster.

Not finished yet ....

Not shure if I should use a working bow truster or not ... there is very little space for it ....

Hm. As you have made the holes you may as well fit one. The hull is good and stout and you can always reinforce the area surrounding the thruster.

Good luck with getting the job!

:-)) Thank you very much ...

I opened up the section where the bow truster will be .... I may use a waterpump with two pipes at an 90° angle in the bowtube instead of a propeller driven bow truster. Pump aspires water at the right and blowing it to the left and vice versa .... I'll go to my model shop tomorrow to see what I can buy ...

Interesting choice, please tell us how it goes. I've had similar thoughts regarding bow thrusters and I know many have done this. Easier to place and replace when needed. My concern is only to find the correct pump. I've had my eyes on a "Kavan fuel pump", made for airplane modellers and works both ways. I have a pump from Conrad that I intend to test in a boat eventually.
Very nice build by the way!

Another possibility is to use a full size bilge pump, they do come in small sizes, a lot are shown on ebay, a lot cheaper than model bow thrusters, just make sure that the motor and impellers can run in reverse.

As part of your research and prep for this plan. Have a look at how Bob K modified his pump system after Polyphemus suffered pipe/joint failure last year so that you can make your system as watertight as possible to prevent filling your hull with water at an impressive but annoying rate.

It is in the Warships section and was updated recently so should be on the first page.

I had a good look at the topic with the pump .... as the Cornelia Marie had a waterpump in the beginning I am quiet used to make everything watertight.

Just bought this pump ---> http://www.kavanrc.com/cgi-bin/dpsmart.exe/GMainMenuFV6.html?E+Kav

... and many other things for building the boat.

Isn't it great when you can have a splurge on your interest! I am glad that you have the pump and its systems sorted and wish you well with instaling it all.

Can't link it directly .... it is a fuel pump intended for RC-planes ... one of the only that work in both directions ....

That looks great, will you have enough water flow to be effective? I assume it will suck from 1 side and blow to the other

Thanks a lot Mark. Yes one in the other side out and vice versa. The pump has 1.8L/min ... there is no stronger pump on the RC market ... I'll try it out in the next few days before I fix it into the hull.
