Hi Danielle
when I do LEDs I normally have X1 led and a 750 ohm resistor for 12v. For the micro LED about 1mm by 1mm Its needs to be higher like 1.5K ohm. all leds are wired in series .

Done all the wiring for the Gantry and the lights for the working deck. I have to glue in the profiles that will cover the wires just like its done on the original.

Finished the upper deck today .... a few details and color missing.

The exhaust stack was made and glued in.

And it looks like that from the inside.

I agree. Except for the obvious plywood trunk, it does look spookily real. You and Joe have that knack  :-))

Thanks a lot!!!!  :-))

Today I made the deck openings for 2 ropes (to lift the net and cod end) and 4 cables for the 4 small nets that can also be used. The 4 small nets are a dragging type with fingers that scratch the bottom .... I wont model them.

Here a picture of them.

First I had to locate the exact positions of the openings.

Here you see where the openings will be. Exhaust stack will be at position marked with a W.

Openings ready to be made square and tidy.

Well, you certainly have an eye for detail and the more you add, the more realistic this model will be.

Fascinating to see this boat coming together. O0

Ray.

It has a good balance between style and practicality. Are you going to add some of the fish trays that you can see in the picture of the nets?

I don't know if I will model the fish trays.

Hullo Danielle.......I seem to get auto e-mails from the German WEB De Sc--------. so viewed the winch wire shrouds there first

The shrouds do look very tidy indeed sectioning both the upper and lower deck levels.......however as noted a few days back, it seems a pity to hide the winches and attached wires away from view

I am sure you will have the opportunity during construction to rig a winch wire or two just to show the mechanism without the deck

Thanks a lot!  :-))

The is an opening in the upper deck. It can be lifted out including the exhaust stack. So the winch will be totally visible.

As you can see the exhaust stack is fixed to the deck opening. I made the tube detail today.

And the two pulleys where made too.

And the whole thing finished.

Thanks a lot for the encouraging words!  ok2

Today I made some of the ropes needed for the N.Loredana ....
Length is about 4m.

First I made some with 3x1 ... normal yarn.

Then I made some with 3x1 fine yarn.
The next ones where made with 3x3 fine yarn with excellent results.

I also made one with 3x3 normal yarn with not so good results.

These are all ropes I made today.
(from the top left to right)
BLUE= 3x3 normal yarn, TAN= 3x3 fine yarn
GREEN= 3x1 normal yarn, WHITE= 3x1 normal yarn
TAN= 3x1 fine yarn

Have a length of yarn/string/wool hanging down and a cat always appears out of nowhere. O0
Did you make the Rope Machine?.

Len, actually the cat wasn't interested in the yarn at all ....  ok2

I bought the rope machine online ... can't remember the shop .... I found another brilliant rope machine that will make professional looking ropes as long as you want.
It works just like the real ones I saw at work when I was working for the worlds #1 steel cable factory in Switzerland.
I may build a prototype with my Meccano parts and then build a sturdy one .... I wouldn't buy it from this page ... too expensive.

There is a very old Rope Making Machine in the Ropery/Rope Walk at the Chatham Maritime Museum in Kent that is a Quarter of a Mile long and the workers use Cycles to get from one end to the other.
