Which speed controllers for tug
« on: December 08, 2013, 04:59:49 pm »

Hello all,

I've got a tug which has twin mfa tornado 500 motors plus a bow thruster. I want independent running of all motors.

I've looked at the Action ones but they look like they only come in kit form. I've had the electronize speed controllers in previous boats with no issues.

Can anyone advise on any other ESC or opinion on the ones I've listed,

Many thanks

Action ones do come ready assembled.  The only assembly as such that you need to do is cut a hole for the heatsink and the leads and then screw the top of the case on that's all.

O for some reason I thought you had to build them up. I bought ones years ago and it came in a bag with all the bits. It never got put together lol. If it's just the case then that will be fine,

Many thanks

There is (or was) the option of home assembly building soldering etc and they are priced (or were) separately cheaper than ready assembled.

They don't look much, but guess it's what they do. So 3 of these will do the job for all all 3 motors in my tug,

Agreed. That is the reason for November's makeover.
I have just updated the FR40 picture in my homepage. www.microgyros.com
Just a minor point. £25 has always been my individual price.
