Soixante-dix!
« on: December 09, 2013, 01:13:23 am »

  To my not inconsiderable surprise - there were times when I felt lucky to have made 30 - I turned 70 at midnight. We celebrated with the help of a pretty decent whisky and the Stones (19th Nervous Breakdown) and Johnny Pearson (Cast Your Fate to the Wind). John McLaughlin and Shakti evoked happy hippy days. Google 'em, you youngsters. Good stuff.

  Tomorrow we're off for a couple of days tramping around Malham and Gordale Scar. And then there's Mayhem '14 to look forward to - I may even have retired and finished a boat by then.

 Chin chin, Martin and Mayhem, and thanks for your companionship over the last few years.

Big congratulations. :-)) :}

Perhaps you are the right age to find a younger Chinese wife like Rupert Murdoch did. Then dump here when you are nearly 90. %%

Don't forget though Guy, there's a village quite close to Malham cove called - - - -.

   Don't think Jonty will be camping out.

  Thanks, everyone! Had a great time. Without telling me my wife had invited three other couples, all old friends. Stayed at the Lister Arms, which I'd recommend to anyone. Ate and drank too much, but what the hell, Jezebel. Even walked a little.

  Gazou: soixante-dix is one better than soixante-neuf, and I think I'd be chucked off the forum if I went into too much detail about the latter...

Hi all I wonder who is the oldest mayhemmer?

We have a club member who was awarded a cup for a model a year ago and he is in his early 90's.

Hi all I wonder who is the oldest mayhemmer?
I'd put my money on Gordon Blanks (Regiment).
