In memory of a master modellor - John Tennant Wright

This model of The Peebleshire clipper ship was made by my father in  law in the 1960's and given to us in 1980. (Its need of a good cleaning- dust collector sorry to say)

He also made a highly detailed model of The Cutty Sark that is now in a west Cumbria museum (Its of the finest quality. The national Maritime museum turned it down because they had no space)

He also made a model of the Cariolanus clipper ship. When he died in 2011 we donated it to a floating museum (The Endeavour) at Stockton on Tees being of a type that used to visit the Tees in the 1800's. Sadly the model has dissappeared from the museum which changed hands last year. The current owner was not aware there was such a model on board. Lesson learned.

Throughout his life he made many ship models and in the 1950's exhibited at National shows.

In memory of John Tennant Wright 1920 - 2011 a master craftsmen.
