Roysterer/Rollicker Tug
« on: December 30, 2013, 08:18:46 pm »

Been a while since posting in this section.
Keep it short and sweet I'm after any pictures of a built Roysterer/ Rollicker superstructure I'm getting to the stage where I'm almost ready to start on the superstructure and would like some pictures of a finished model to gauge some reference.

If you look back Jay, there are some good pics for modelling of the real Roysterer laid for sale.

One problem with those pics Ian.
They are of the Robust not the others.
Robust was configured as a large harbour tug in Plymouth so hardly went to sea so she had the large bow fender.
The other sea going tugs had the usual rope fenders over the bow and shoulders.

Bob, the Robust was the first to loose the large fixed bow fender, the others followed suit at next refit. I remember them all with that large box contraption on the bow, that is why Rollicker clear most of the stanchions of the vessels she went to assist in the Falklands until a real tug master was sent down to her ( she was sent down with a foreign going master!!).

Here is another pic of Rollicker on the same exercise, but it is a nice one of her bow fender (mid 1980;s on ).

Cracking few pictures there cheers Ian and Dave.

Not sure now which tug to build mine on, hull is fitted out and painted now painted a base coat of humrol number 7 on the superstructure and used a whole tin  {:-{

Need to sort the decks and fit them and it's water worthy for a handling test then gets benched until I finish her off with all the fittings and lights/sound/smoke etc.

Hi Jay need your email address old mate to send the pics. Though I was thinking do you have the lifeboats and davits for this model, if you do why not paint her grey upper works and model her as new with the ocean towing group.
