According to a local paint specialist,  "Ford Balliol Blue" is Oxford Blue by another name and is a stock colour from some suppliers - ie it is "Blue 13" in CarPlan's ColorMatch range.  I have had my model Tamar next to the hull of a real Tamar and the colours looked the same to my inexpert eye.

almost £15 per 400 ml aerosol tin sounds very expensive to me , ive taken to buying most of my paint from our local supplier , express paints in portsmouth , im currently getting a 1/4 litre of acrylic  for less than £8 , which im using through an airbrush .

the white used to be vauxhall glacier white , and the orange is volkswagon brilliant orange  both as a fairly close match of what us modellers could easily purchase from the local motorists store . a good auto paint supplier should be able to mix from the ral code given to him / her in whatever type of paint you  require .

Thanks triumphjon,
I have offered to build a Slipway Tamar kit for a club member.
that is why I required the correct paint colors to use. :-))
