never throw anything away...
« on: January 16, 2014, 10:48:46 pm »

The old cat was diabetic, and we had tiny hypodermic syringes for his insulin injections. The plunger was topped by a tiny rubber plug, about 3mm diameter, with a central hole where it clipped on to the plunger. Disassembling some of these after use I kept several of these rubber plugs, as they looked "useful". Recently I needed something to slip over a cf 2.5mm tube, to locate it in a brass ring, and after thinking about it for a few days I suddenly thought of these, and more amazingly, found the safe place I'd put them in!

I had thought about binning them about a month ago, but the hoarding instinct prevailed. Now I will, subject to testing, be able to rig my schooner as planned.

Giving a cat an injection....... Hmm, no thanks!
Reminds me of the methodology for giving a cat a pill:

the needles are so fine they don't feel it, you just grab a bunch of the scruff of the neck and inject it in (we too had a diabetic cat) the syringes we got came with a clip on in line magnifier to read the scale on the side of the syringe - one per box, they are great for magnifying small text, and small enough to carry round with you.
