well triumphjon, I guess you ought to contact the organisers on the addresses on the first post about parking, I hope that they are helpful and that you can come and visit a very good show. Alan

Hi Guys,
Just got back from the Sumner Ponds Model Show. For those that went, wasn't it great and thank you to everybody who came to the stand and had a chat.  :P those who didn't come to the show you really missed out on such a beautiful venue plus the gorgeous weather. <:( GO next year, you won't be disappointed. :}
I really must thank everybody who looked after me over the weekend - Dave and his mum through to Kim the organiser, she worked her socks off and didn't stop once from Friday when we got there to Sunday night when we left. Plus all of the year before and no doubt she will take a couple of weeks off and then start again for next year.
I have participated in many, many shows over the 28 years that we have been trading. There are few organisers that have shown as much dedication to the overall running of their show. Kim probably is at the top of these yet she is young and vibrant ok2 and nothing is too much trouble. Well done girl you did good, you are a true professional! Also bear in mind that this is only the second model show at this venue.
I think I can say that everybody enjoyed themselves. O0
Regards to all as normal.

Hi,

Had a fantastic day had Sumner Ponds - very enjoyable stretch of water with plenty of interesting features of reeds (not a problem), islands and curves around which to navigate and also an unobstructed view and firm under foot, whilst chasing after the boat.

Many thanks to the guys Mac, Sean and members from the “Warship Squadron Model Club” who valiantly help me launch and recover my 35kg steam launch over the soft bank.

Will certainly go next year.

I was there as a spectator.

First time I'd been too but as it's about 3 miles from where I live I thought I should go along.  What a fantastic show. :-)

My love of RC boats was revived by walking around the various club stands and watching the demonstrations by the Portsmouth club on the water, (I really want to know what they use for depth charges too!)

The railway displays were great and very well executed layouts in a limited space. My dad is a building a railway at the minute so he was very happy looking around them getting ideas.

I then walked up the hill to the RC cars and I was really tempted to buy one of those ridiculously large, Losi 1/5 scale racing trucks.

After that I went to the kite field where I was reminded of the many happy days I spent flying kites and thought, I may buy another one when I get home.

Then I went to the flying field where a great display of electric planes and a turbine helicopter took place. All great machines and I thought, Maybe I could try an electric plane one day, looks nice, clean, harmless fun. :-)

So, all in all a great day but potentially very expensive for me! :D

black park club went along, ( well about 8 of us in total) - we went last year too, and i echo  Hunters post, kim and her team who organise this show are top notch, - and  they bend over backward to ensure everyone is having a good time..

the weather was wonderful ( how come we cant get it right for wicky ??? ) the venue is great, the camping is good, and the displays of boats, cars, tanks, aircraft, kites and trains were good,

this show will only grow and improve year on year.... stick it in the diary for 2015 !
