B & Bs and Hotels around Ellesmere Port
« on: January 22, 2014, 08:29:16 pm »

I want to make the effort and get out to a few more shows this year
and I am hoping to get to the Ellesmere Port show in early March.

I don't particularly want to drive from East Yorkshire to Ellesmere and back within
the day so I am thinking of staying a couple of nights in the area and having a look
at the National Waterways Boat Museum at the same time.

Can anybody recommend any B & B's or Hotels in the area? - nothing fancy
since I don't have a load of dosh and with a single room if possible.

Thanks in anticipation

Do you know the Ellesmere Port show is held in the National Waterways Boat Museum. There is also a Holiday Inn just next to the National Waterways Boat Museum but I do not know what it costs if you are interested.
There is also the Maratime musium across the river in Liverpool. Worth a look but expensive parking I think. Maybe someone on mayham from Liverpool area could supply you with information.

...Hi Guys...

I have just checked the Holiday Inn for a room on the Saturday Night 1st March and they are quoting 114 pounds...

Myself and my clubmates are booked into the Premier in at Wirral (Childer Thornton)  and it is around half that for a room there...

Got myself booked in for a couple of nights B & B.

Rose Cottage didn't have a vacancy so I (hopefully)
will be staying at Puddington Hall, it sounds very grand
until you see the full address . . .

The Outhouse B and B, at Puddington Hall, Ledsham

I'm sure it will be OK !

BTW - when I go to model boat shows I am certain that
there will be loads of you mayhemmers around, but since
I don't know anybody by sight apart from Martin! (and DM!)
I am none the wiser! so, I am going to make up a
badge with my username on and ponce about with it on
my lapel. Please feel free to talk to me if you want to - on
the other hand if I could persuade other MBM regulars to
do the same ....? Can we get something started here
Martin perhaps ?

Well done.

We use this idea at the Yearly mayhem get together and the Warwick show in November.

Cheers

If you are staying in the Ellesmere Port area and want to go to Liverpool. Park at Hooton station 80p I think ,for the day. and get the train in. No tunnel fee, no expensive parking. Other rly car parks may be cheaper!
