Took my kids out to see that strange orange ball in the blue sky  :} , no boats that actually float at the moment due to loss of work area, terrific day out and about though.

It appears the site went off line, sort of got my boat wet, in the bath, trying to make a fin and bulb, sat the thing in the bath and waited to see if anything leaked -  :((  - yes, so a bit more gluing, and testing, too much weight rearward so after leaving to float about the bath for a while no difference - yeah no leaks, then I go and saw off a bit more at the rear of the bulb - booo need, to seal it again, whilst waiting for the site to come back, went looking at pensyvaniya naval yard and edson and forrest sherman and the forrestal, saw the battleship no. 62 and on the opposite side of the delaware the sub and vistorian era gun ship, like the 1890's style, so not seen much sun as it was blinding me while I did some trawling  :D

Well Ned I have to say that I would have loved to have joined you earlier except for server error. All day long I have been getting a 'server error, please try later' message. This has happened a few times this week but today has been the longest. Its not only mayhem a couple of other sites I go to are the same, so it is a server/hub issue rather than Mayhem at fault.

Mayhem site so hard to access today, plus internet slowed to a crawl.

Earlier, after loading up my boats and heading off for glorious day with clear skies and hardly a breeze, I was met by the sight of locked gates at Black Park.  Trees downed in the gales were threatening power cables.
I was almost tempted to sail at Datchet instead.

It is sad to see such a site as this slowly diminishing through no fault of the owner and moderators.

Yes, sadly I too have noted over a period of time, a lot of 'regulars' no longer post, no doubt frustration won out in the end.

Sadly I don't have any answers. <:( <:( <:(

A bit harsh  %)

Mayhem is no different to most clubs, groups etc , they all have their problems be it Internet related or physical.. But more often than not they recover, I would not say that Mayhem is diminishing just going through a quiet stage, in terms of Builds Etc.

As a relative 'newbie' I'd like to add a positive note. I joined this site a few months back looking for advice on buying my first R/C boat - a model slipways puffer. The ship is now nearing completion, and I've been really heartenedand encouraged throughout the build by the help, hints and advice from mayhem members.
This is great site, don't lose heart!

When I asked the question in post 1, I was not casting aspersions on the forum.
I had just come back from the lake and switched on logged on and there were just two
members online.
Just after my post I was the only one left and not long after that the site went inaccessible.
Maybe Martin took advantage of the lull in activity to do some housekeeping.

As you say Bill, a great site with great members

That was how I read your post Ned, as most of yesterday I like others were struggling to get on here.

Although as a newbie I have been doing loads of searches to find answers to my questions (which I have found a great help) but have noticed a lot of the post's had been typed by guest's, so guess it's people that have gone elsewhere.

I've been a member of a few forums over time, mainly model railway when I had loads of that and these sort of question often came up, I think most forums go through slow times and soon pick back up once the better weather reaches us. I also think we have to remember what we all do is a Hobby and sometimes life can get in the way of what we would all really prefer to be doing.

Just my thoughts

Hi Ian,
Welcome to the Mayhem

The reason that a lot of posts before March 2012 are accredited to Guests is that
the forum had a meltdown and the majority of us had to re register.
Anything by a member who had to re register has the guest accreditation.

Hi Howard,
We were a bit thin on the lakeside yesterday.
I was sailing the RG65 Dragonforce yacht.
I was the one with the furry hat {-) {-)

Next time we may have a few members with power models
but its the sailors who brave the elements

If your down again speal to one of us!
By the way my name at the lake is Ron
so just look for the beard and glasses {-)

Ah, I always thought the posting thread "Ashes" was about very cheap 3,000 Amp speed controllers of far eastern origin.   %%
