Bonjour Seacommander,

I am the happy owner of one of these steam plants :

My bests : Powerful (already at less than 30 PSI), smooth, price "almost" reasonable for an "almost" complete steam plant for me (I have added a gas regulator, a whistle and a RC safery gas valve). Jin is always ready to help if needed.

My concerns : small boiler which gives an autonomy of about 20 minutes to my boat (I have bought a coupled pump but did not instal it yet).and you can'b be in a hurry if you wish anything.

Th M29 from Microcosm is a real winner. Success all aroubd as you see from Rafael.  I also bought the version with P5 gas attenuator, and the system worked right out of the box. It does a great job in my launch, and I'd recommend this product to anyone. My only complaint was the clumsy steam gage which I replaced with a smaller one from Clevedon.

That Jin offers free shipping from China is another amazing aspect of this purchase.  Go for it! And then let us know what boat you put it in.

Most grateful thanks for the positive reply
This is a Lock down project, I'm basically bodging an old hull...
I bought a hull and Frog Marine Diesel before Xmas and it sat in the garage,
Then lock down occurred..... I got the engine running and sold it on, I was only ever interested in the hull.
The hull I would suggest is 1950's, heavy Bread & Butter and in the style of a MTB 42" X9". Not quite the right thing...... but who ever made it was an absolute master, it's lovely.
Anyhow, it had a great hole in the deck,  I've shaped this and put a combing around it and cleaned the inside up. knocked the prop shaft out and started to look for an engine and boiler.
Various things have cropped up but at the price, this ticks the box. I have a spare 4 channel radio so no cost there and can titivate and play about a bit
I'm looking very simple, as long as I manage 10-15 Mins run out of it,  that achieves target
Thanks again, thoughts always welcome
Cheers

Such beauty.

Looking for my next future boat for the winter 2021.
Want something bigger than my 33" Borkum hull but not sure where to look.
Steam all the way though.
Cheers,
Derek

Morfa Do you want to build the hull? If you like the 53" Cecilia pictured above, I can tell you more. It's very doable. It's strip planked on a strongback which I can help you get. It is made from a Tippecanoe T50 racing sailboat and I made a few changes most notably the stern. and adding a keel. It is not a kit as a launch but that seems like a good idea....

Seacommander, please post a picture of your hull and lets us know what you think its displacement is. I think the M29 is a good price and would do fine in a boat that size of the "hole in the deck" is big enough. Can send specifics if you want

Carl,
Definitely interested but in real preliminary stages of next steps. Barely into learning about my steam plant and the "Borkum" but would like to continue this conversation to learn more and see where it takes me. Like the simplicity and clean lines with just the "boat" and the steam plant. Cool. As a newbie, is it a difficult build? Let's chat more...

Brillant - so many moving parts.
An orchestra of steam.
