Hi Ladies and Gents.
Paddleducks Day will possibly see the largest collection of model paddle boats,
to be seen in one day, on one pond in the World
This year it will be hosted by Knightswood Model Boat Club,
on Knightswood Pond Glasgow, on the 31st August.

All are very welcome.

Sandy, I seldom go onto the paddleducks web site these days, but I still now and then look at Stuart Badgers totally wonderful Connaught and wonder what happened to the beautiful model and also the one that he was building at the time of his sad death...the one with the three funnels.

have you any idea as to where they went and do they ever see light of day these days..............never saw them in the "flesh" bout would like to one day.

cheers, neil.

Morning Neil......Stuart Badgers massively beautiful Connaught was sold, boxed up & shipped to a PD member in UK ...Balloch in Scotland
I do not remember his name ...but again sadly it doesn't appear to see much sea time

I am sure if you posted a PM to Eddy Mathews he would confirm the new owner/location...or a search on PD's will find the final thread messages

Eddy & Stuart were close friends..................

Here is an image of Connaught boxed up in Greece awaiting transportation to UK.......Derek....[an original PD member from Y2000]

Hi Derek.thanks matey........I looked up the old thread and it is Marinemole who originally bought it from Stuart...........but as I have never seen it mentioned since was just wondering whether he had passed it on.

But what happened to the one that Stuart was working on up until his sad death......the three funnelled tug paddler...........it was so unusual and yet so beautiful in a strange sort of way..........I do hope she was finished by someone.

neil.

I still have Connaught but the sheer size of the model makes transport very difficult. I had to hire a Luton van to get it up from Darlington. If I can I will sail it at Knightswood but I can't guarantee it. An old video of one of Connaught's voyages on Loch Lomond.

thanks Andy.....that was my biggest problem when I didn't bid for the model..................size, as it was just so beautiful and never had a place to display it.........you really need a country estate............Like Longleat, lol....

do you know what happened to Stuarts model that he was building.......that also was a stunning model. neil.

  VERY IMPORTANT

  HI ALL .
With much regret we have to cancel  “ Paddleducks 2014 “
This is due a very high level of Blue/Green Algae. In the pond
The Club will try to reschedule for later this year , at no shorter
notice less than 14 day .
