sea trojan
« on: February 27, 2014, 01:50:12 pm »

hi all ,please help, have just taken delivery of 44" fibre glass hull and superstructure of the tug Sea Trojan also with it is a kort nozzle 4" I.D. no plans or imfo . I have no plans/drawings imfo of any sort, could any one help me with this please,I really need the plans for the build from scratch ,I know it may be asking a bit much but if someone has a set of plans I would be only to willing to pay the printing and postage, not having built a tug before this hull looked a good one to tackle (he says hopefully ). can't seem to find much imformation on the model though.

Hi,
I am so glad I found this! I am about to start a Sea Trojan Build and I will no doubt need plenty of help! I have struggled to find very little info about this boat and or any builds…
This model looks exactly what I will aim for but it will be little more than pure luck if it looks half as good!

Keep your eyes open as I will start a new thread on my build...

Cheers for now..

David.

It seems from looking at other Sea Trojans, there is a lot of room for "artistic licence"!
This is good as I may stray from what I have on the drawings…????
The pictures of the Griffin are interesting as my dad made an alluminium Kort nozzle complete with the rudder blade... I'm not sure where it is but I'll try to dig it out and see if I can use it...???

It seems from looking at other Sea Trojans, there is a lot of room for "artistic licence"!  Maybe not so much "artistic licence" as the changes made
during both the Trojan and the Griffin life of toil, after all they were launched in 1962. For example, and from some photographs I have, the Trojan has had at the very least three different types of boats, davits, a crane and at one time just a life raft container, never mind other fittings and probably colours, So you have plenty of choice for your final reproduction.

Yes indeed, I too have found this and I think I'll let it grow with my journey into tug building...  %)
Today, I'm fitting the floor into mine and have realised, I NEED A STAND!!!  :embarrassed:
