Hello from Lowestoft
« on: March 01, 2014, 11:27:36 am »

Greetings all!  Took up model boats last year when I had to give up my live steam ride-on hobbies due to ill health. I first bought a secondhand offshore twin-screw supply boat, then decided to try and build my own.  Successfully completed an Aeronaut Diva, then thought I'd try something a bit more complicated, so started an Occre Ulises which is coming on nicely but much more of a challenge! Not sure about planked hulls,  in future may go to GRP! Need to find out how to bend some 3x2mm hardwood strip to fit the rubbing strakes so off to the Hints and Tips on here. Best wishes to all, David

Yes, Welcome to the Mayhem David!

( Please keep your seat belt on until the aircraft comes to a complete stop... or crashes! )

Occre Ulises, is this our first one on Mayhem?

Thanks for the welcome!
Martin - think there's at least one more Ulises on here - seems to be a faster builder than me though! {:-{
Mike - I'd love a steamer but thought I should learn to walk before I run (and also save up a few more pennies too) ok2
Ned - thanks for the tip!!  :}
