Fuel Tank
« on: March 01, 2014, 07:36:45 pm »

Hi all,
Does anyone know where I can get a petrol tank like this one in the picture, preferably in the UK. I am not particularly fussed on the style, just as long as it has a long neck to fill it up. Thanks

those tanks are often found on the back of strimers etc,try the local lawn mower repair shop if you have one, failing that then its hong kong

Its an Arrow 57 from Waverider mouldings, yeah, its got a tuned pipe but it actually has Rev Unlimited from Gizmo motors. Its a pro mod with 6.2hp. Its just a clone of a Zenoah but has been very reliable :)

Hahaha, what I meant is....... It is hard to find somewhere that we can get to it if it breaks down. We have a Transit Connect so it is only big enough for the model, no dingy. Tides are a big problem as well as Poole is pretty rocky. We do have a boat but the model is the same size as the platform so feels a little dangerous. Plus most of the harbour is lined with beaches, which aren't any good because of the amount of people.... the list goes on........ Yeah we go to Weymouth every year, only to watch mind you, that's what go us into petrols!

What happened to the tank it came with ?,hows the boat running now anyways mate.Kurt that engine he has really moves he clocked her at over 60 mph lol, surprised me did that one lol  %% .
If you like the idea of launching these big boats from your real boat and dont like starting her on the platform you could allways build one with electric power,i have a twin planned for this year, mind you ive had it planned for 2 years now,its finding the time between building boats thats the problem lol. This should be a beast on 10 s per motor, should easy hit 75 mph lol.Run times wont be as good though  :} .

 Hi Martin,
The grommet where the fuel line enter the tank split for some reason, didn't realise you could buy the grommets before we bought a new tank. The boat runs well, we haven't used it since December, but ran it in the workshop last weekend. it ran very well and idled nicely, we were very please with it! Yeah, we (well I) considered making an electric one but Dad, and mum, are a bit more hard to convince  {:-{ I have a Robbe Najade with ceased rudders, so I need to get that running before. Could get a clutch for petrol I guess. Wow, sounds good I will look out for it, what hull are you going to put the electric into?
